Salford Music Festival.....20th - 23rd Sept

Having just blogged Manchester band Stolen Haven playing one of the Salford Music Festival gigs, I thought I'd better go the whole hog and take a look at the festival as a whole.

Click here to see what Mark was reading while in NYC...It's the ultimate community music event with around 200 bands playing over four days, including a headlining gig by The Fall at The Lowry.  The majority of the bands are from Manchester and surrounding areas showcasing the variety of music and wealth of talent in the North West.

It's organised by former Fall guitarist Ed Blaney and he wants you to come along and share in all that Salford has to offer over the frantic four days of the festival.  The majority of the festival gigs are free and what better way to support local bands than by going along to as many gigs as you can and have a great time!

The gigs are being held over 20 venues and are as follows.....Ashley Brook, Deli-Lama, Lime Bar, Lower Kersal Social Club, New Oxford, The Blue Bell, The Crescent, The Drop Inn, The Hope, The Lowry, The New Inn, The Park, The Ship, The Star, The Wellington, The White Horse Eccles, The White Horse Irlam, The White Swan, The Winston, Wangies.

Now given that there's 200 bands and only one of me I'm only going to give you a little snippet of what's on offer but needless to say you can go to the Salford Festival Website and check out all the bands at your leisure.....
