The Hazy Eyed Smiles.....

Looking for a band that play's no nonsense rock 'n' roll?  Then you need look no further than The Hazy Eyed Smiles. They were formed in February 2011 when Phil Thompson met up with Pete Lawrence via a website called joinmyband.com. He liked the sound of Pete's songs as they were very melodic indie rock and he wanted to bring them to life. Phil had been advertising since November 2010 and was currently jamming with a bass player and lead guitarist. After Pete joined and brought his songs into the band, the lead guitarist left as he didn't like the musical direction the band was moving in. So after re-advertising for a lead guitarist. many faces and auditions later enter lee Rapson  in May 2011 and he was just what the band needed. He had exactly the same taste in music as Pete and Phil so they were agreed on the direction the band was taking and what they wanted from it.

They all thought that was it then, they had The Hazy Eyed Smiles all sorted.  So they just needed to get the set tight and get out there and play some gigs. But the bass player decided out of the blue a few months later that he didn't want to be in the band.  This led to a hectic time trying to find a replacement when finally in walks Dan Stagg, he pulls out a six string bass and starts playing the songs like he's been playing them for months and he said he liked the songs and the sound and that he would be back the following week.

Since then they haven't looked back, recording new songs which have had a great response and some radio play. They've been gigging since February with very positive reactions reaction from the crowds. They have also had a interview on local radio and have more gigs in the pipeline.
